Outside of coaching, I'm the SVP of Operations for an executive recruiting firm and an active board member of Forging Youth Resilience. For fun, I do a lot of outdoorsy stuff - biking, hiking, etc. I like coaching the classic olympic lifts (snatch, clean & jerk). When I'm on the assault bike I close my eyes and recite the alphabet backwards to help get through it. Also, I studied Mechanical Engineering at MIT but am bad at barbell math. We have such a great community and team of coaches - when you walk in the door, you know there are amazing people inside trying to be the best version of themselves. You don't find that in many places and it can really make a difference. Whether it's a smile, catching up with someone, getting your first double under, celebrating a PR in class, or supporting each other through difficult moments in life. It's so much more than a gym - people truly care about each other, and that's what makes True Fitness such a special place.
It's personally fulfilling to help people get fit, improve their skills/technique, and have fun all at the same time. As a coach, I try to incorporate deep knowledge of the craft with making it a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone. I love that CrossFit is a great equalizer - it doesn't matter your background, fitness level, what you do for work... everyone is challenging themselves and sweating through it together!
